Winning the Game
Board: A chess board with black and white squares; another arrangement of the black and white checkers on the 8 x 8 grid. WHITE and BLACK pieces are used, only the squares that are black on a chessboard are used to play.

It is a manoeuvre in which pieces are to be moved diagonally ahead to the dark square that is unoccupied by any other piece.
When it is a person’s turn and the square which is next to another piece horizontally, vertically, or diagonally is occupied by an opponent’s piece and the square beyond that piece is empty, the opponent’s piece can be captured by the person making the move by ‘skipping’ the piece over the opponent’s piece. One is not restricted to one jump in a turn but can make numerous jumps provided the squares to be jumped over are blank.

Capturing is mandatory. The game also includes a provision that particular moves have to be done if the player can make those moves.
If there are 2 or more options on where to capture the game, the player can decide which capture to do.
3. Crowning:
If a piece has travelled up to the far end of the board, that is the row closest to the player on the side of opponent, it gets the title ‘king piece.
Kings can specifically move on the diagonals, forwards or backwards; this makes them more flexible and more critical pieces.

The objective of checkers is for one’s pieces to capture all the opponent’s pieces or to immobilize them by bringing them to a position whereby no further valid move can be made.
